What to Expect

Abstaining from an addictive behavior for a period of four weeks can be a challenging, but ultimately rewarding experience. By cutting out the addictive substance or behavior, you may experience withdrawal symptoms and cravings, but with the support of buddies and a group, you can get through this difficult time. As you go through the detox process, you will also be finding healthy replacements for your addiction, such as engaging in new activities or hobbies, or finding new ways to cope with stress or negative emotions. You may notice improvements in your physical and mental health, as well as your relationships and overall well-being. By the end of the four weeks, you may have a newfound sense of control and freedom, and you may be better able to make healthier choices in the future. The support of others can provide valuable encouragement and accountability, helping you to stay on track and reach your goals.

Who should not take this challenge?

It is not recommended to undergo a dopamine fast for individuals who are at risk of experiencing life-threatening withdrawal symptoms if they suddenly stop using substances such as alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids. This is particularly true in cases of severe dependence and withdrawal.

How is this different from a course?

GetMotivatedBuddies is a behavior based platform. It is designed to help you actually do things, rather than just watch people do things.  For each day choose your own times to take action, to fit it within your schedule, while still participating with others! 

Is this live or by video, audio, or something else?

This challenge is designed for you to simply check in daily with your Buddies and group. We provide additional information to help you make change.
